History
With eight acres of roof space to maintain and monitor, The London Facilities Management Company was commissioned to undertake works to prevent leaks due to ageing fabric. We completed surveys of all roofs, gutters and water handling systems and then fitted a new roof membrane, re-configured drainage whilst ensuring the collection of priceless paintings beneath was kept secure. Project was undertaken over three months.
Approach
With only 11 weeks allocated for the entire project and 1 week of mobilisation, it was imperative to ensure that the full team and service partners were able to commit at short notice to works. Our immediate concern was to secure various galleries from water ingress.
Having secured site, we developed a safe access strategy to include investigation, repair and remedial works.
